About Us

We are the Corontzes Family and have loved living and working in South Carolina our entire lives, beginning at our grandparent’s notable Capitol Café in downtown Columbia right in front of the State Capitol building.  It was a 24 hour-a-day diner where we all held down our first jobs as young teens.  Then, one by one, all came to Clemson University as freshmen ranging from the years of 1972 to 1988.  Four of the five brothers who came here for school; Nick, Zach, George, and Ted either stayed or returned to Clemson to become restaurateur partners.

After Nick’s sudden passing in August 2010, his wife Nancy joined the partnership after working for the restaurants in administration and hosting for many years.  Other family members have key roles in both restaurants as well.  Among this next generation, with Clemson degrees and strong culinary training, the interest, work ethic and talent is there to carry on the family tradition.
These restaurants are our chance to offer our local patrons and visitors a place to relax, and enjoy great meals and libations in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.

We hope you sense the care and pride we feel, and Thank You for allowing us to serve you now for well over a quarter of a century.

About Pixie & Bill’s

Opening in 1971 by founder Bill Hopkins, Pixie & Bill’s is considered Clemson’s original fine dining establishment and continues some of the legendary menu items from its beginning like the Lobster Bisque, the slow-roasted Prime Rib au Jus, and Gran Marnier crepes with ice cream and hot fudge.

Today the menu is greatly expanded and features many dishes that have become favorites, such as the Filet Mignon in Port Wine Reduction Sauce, Scallops Valdostano, Lobster and Shrimp Thermidor with puff pastry, extra thick Memphis Dry Rubbed Pork Chop and all of the seared blackened dishes to name a few. You may want to save room for our scratch made Maker’s Mark Kentucky Derby Pie along with one of the premium after dinner coffee drinks or cordials.

As always, only natural hand-cut beef is served at levels of prime or choice only.  Lightly seasoned with a house blend and grilled over searing infrared heat to insure a caramelized exterior with a moist and naturally juicy interior.

Our fresh fish and seafood arrives ice-packed several times a week.  Fileted in house and prepared in a variety of outstanding ways for nightly specials.

The pasta, pork, chicken, seafood and other beef dishes along with vegetarian and gluten-free options are all meticulously prepared to the order with the freshest ingredients available in all scratch made recipes.

The classic decor, so familiar to many locals and alumni, is accentuated with all original or numbered artwork by great artists like Terry Redlin, Art Lamay, Ginger Sebeck and Jim Booth.  The rich antiques throughout Pixie & Bill’s serve as wine displays, buffets and bureaus along with a prized solid mahogany bar piece once used as a soda fountain in Carpenter Brothers Drugstore in downtown Greenville.

The smaller bar dining room and the main dining room, each with fireplaces, along with the two porch dining areas and private room all offer their own different ambiance for you to relax and enjoy dinner.

We hope you enjoy Pixie & Bill’s as much as we have loved serving the Clemson area and all of our returning friends for over 30 years.
